World Climbing Series Comunidad de Madrid
A few short weeks after Wujiang, the series moved to Alcobendas in the Comunidad de Madrid, run alongside a bouldering event.
Both headliners sat it out. Zhao Yicheng赵一程Zhào Yīchéng stayed home under Chinese selection rules, and Watson opted for extra training, publicly sharing his progress on out-teching Zhao on hold 11.
Chu Shouhong储守宏Chǔ Shǒuhóng bounced back from narrowly missing the cutoff in Wujiang and won it in 4.75. Behind him, Antasyafi Robby Al Hilmi ran 4.727 for silver and a new Indonesian record, which sharpened a problem Indonesia already had: four of the ten fastest men in history by competition personal best are Indonesian, and the Olympics allow two per country.
Emma Hunt won the women's event in 6.084 and looked like someone with a 5 in her, which she would prove five weeks later in Kraków.
The podium.
Aleksandra Mirosław
A legend of the discipline in her farewell season - every start could be her last on home-continent soil, and she is still fast enough to win.
Zhao Yicheng
4.54
At 16-17 he already owns the world record and is the clear favorite every time he steps to the wall. The first sub-4.5s run may well be his.
Emma Hunt
5.99
The fastest woman in history and the standard-bearer for the USA speed program heading toward LA28, even though the Kraków gold slipped away after her record run.

Every race, round by round.
The knockout in full: who raced whom, the lane they ran, and the time each climber ran in that heat. The climber who advances is marked; a fall is shown as the officials recorded it, not as a time.
