How an athlete gets on this page.
Speed is measured, not argued. The fastest list is every climber's best official time, ranked. Nothing else goes into it, which is why it contains names that have never won a world title and leaves out some that have.
Winning is counted the same way. The winners' circle is three or more senior wins at World Cup, World Championship, World Games or Olympic level, taken from the results archive rather than from anyone's memory.
A few names are here on merit a counter cannot see. Athletes who have held a world record, or who opened a door their whole country walked through afterwards, carry the Speed Legend mark whether or not the win column agrees.
How achievements are marked.
Climber profiles carry small badges for career landmarks. Hover or tap a badge on any profile to see exactly what it stands for.

Olympic medal
Gold, silver or bronze at an Olympic Games. The Paris tower marks Paris 2024.
